
Christopher Baker
Chris Baker has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement and currently serves as the Patrol Commander for Boston University Police Department and is on the Executive Team of the Boston University Behavioral Intervention/Care Team. Previously, he retired as the Chief of Police for the Berkley Police Department, with a diverse background in law enforcement, including roles as a Narcotics Investigator and Anti-Crime Detective for the Transit Police Department in Boston and Homeland Security Task Force Officer. He excelled in investigations, rising through the ranks from Detective, Detective Sergeant and Detective Lieutenant. One of his most notable accomplishments was developing and leading a task force that resulted in the arrest of a serial bank robber operating across three New England states, known as the Tear Drop Bank robber.
Chris holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England University and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Curry College. He is currently an Adjunct Professor for the University of New Hampshire Criminal Justice Program. Additionally, he holds a host of certificates and instructor credentials, including the : Harvard University National Leadership Program Cohort #25, FBI Trilogy Leadership Series, Department of Homeland Security Master Instructor Behavioral Threat Assessment Program and Advanced Force Science Certificate Program.
In addition to his academic achievements, Chris has had a successful career in law enforcement. He has served as the Commander for the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team and responded to various high-profile events, such as the Boston Marathon and the ensuing manhunt in Watertown, where he commanded over 150 SWAT officers. Chris has received numerous awards for his courage and bravery, including the George L. Hanna award and Metro-SWAT's Medal of Valor and Combat Cross.
As a principal owner of Synergy 911 Corporation, he has played a key role in developing critical incident response programs, including the I.M.P.A.C.T. Critical Incident Response Program and the 4 L's Violent Intruder Program. He has conducted countless training sessions and exercises across the country for public safety and law enforcement officials as well as civilians in critical incident preparedness and active shooter response.
